Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner Brother Mok Kar Leong
I have known Candy for some time and clearly see her heart for God, which is reflected in her deep concern for the spiritual well-being of the brothers and sisters in Christ. On one hand, this demonstrates her commitment to fulfilling the Lord Jesus’ command to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” On the other hand, it also reveals her dedication to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” She has devoted herself to developing an assessment tool called the “Spiritual Thermometer” and established an organization of the same name. Through the two main axes of the SG Model, she assesses and helps brothers and sisters in Christ understand their “level of devotion to God” and their “capacity for spiritual growth.” This enables them to recognize and reflect on their spiritual condition, regularly examine, rethink, and realign themselves, with the hope of maintaining a close relationship with God and “living out God’s will and the true self He originally created in this world.”
As a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, I see that Candy’s ministry aligns with the traditional Chinese medicine concept of “preventing illness before it occurs, preventing deterioration after illness has occurred, and preventing relapse after recovery.” In our conversations, Candy’s mention of the influence of the “Spiritual Family of Origin” left a particularly deep impression on me. This is similar to the concept of “innate constitution” in traditional Chinese medicine, where the “innate” constitutes the initial state, and the “acquired” nourishes and supplements it to achieve balance. What the “Spiritual Thermometer” emphasizes is the centrality of biblical teachings. Regardless of our initial environment and state when we first believed in the Lord, if we can consistently examine our relationship with Him, meditate on His words day and night, and frequently draw near to Him, we will be able to maintain an intimate relationship with the Lord. I believe this is the vision Candy had in mind when she created the “Spiritual Thermometer.” I look forward to collaborating with her in our respective roles as we walk the heavenly path together.
