Retreat Day organized jointly by the Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre and the Spiritual Guidance Model (Spiritual Thermometer) Ministry- the Chapter for Pastors, Chaplains and Ministry Staff (12 Oct 2026)

Thanks be to the Lord for His grace! The day retreat held on 12 October 2026 was full of grace. One of the chaplains who attended described it as a spiritual feast akin to a sumptuous buffet, enabling them to find quiet rest amidst their busy ministry and consume the exquisite spiritual delicacies the Lord had prepared for them; Participating pastors and ministry staff agreed with the observations and insights shared by guest response speaker Rev. Jonathan Chan, noting that, just as the Lord Jesus withdrew to a quiet place in the wilderness to pray when faced with sorrow, and was moved with compassion upon seeing those in need of Him, and then willing to temporarily set aside His own retreat to first fulfil the task God had given Him, before resuming His original retreat (Matthew 14).

Our loving God is aware of the hard work of those in ministry (pastors, chaplains and ministry staff)! Whatever circumstances those involved in ministry may face, may they be able, like Pastor/Chaplains Lam, who shared her testimony on that day, having faced tests (trails and/or temptations) in various aspects in the ministry and work for many years, through the Bible and the ‘Spiritual Thermometer’ tool, recognise and accept the state and changes in their relationship with God; and then, be guided by the Holy Spirit, rediscover the true self created by God; and make choices and take actions that are pleasing to God, thereby glorifying Him and edifying others.
