The ministry uses the “Spiritual Thermometer/Spiritual Guidance (SG) Model” as the entry point to shape and train believers’ spiritual lives according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is an innovative model that integrates different theories and practices of spiritual formation, spiritual direction, Christian counselling, and psychology methods, to help believers check their spiritual immunity and Spiritual Development Stage (SDS). Then, according to the current SDS of the users, with main reference to the Bible, and in conjunction with the user’s choice, we provide comprehensive holistic services to enhance the believer’s spiritual immunity.

After the publication of “Spiritual Thermometer” in 2020, the founder Candy has been serving different churches, groups, organizations and small groups, couples and individuals, organizing personal growth classes and small group courses, couple’s spiritual growth, spiritual guidance, and counseling courses (physical and online), sharing teaching and individual follow-ups based on Scripture, combining spiritual formation, psychology, Christian counseling, and spiritual guidance. The Spiritual Guidance Model (SG model) can check the spiritual condition of the users, and assist them in enhancing their personal and group spiritual immunity rationally and emotionally, to enhance their ability to face all kinds of tests (including temptations, struggles, temptations, trials, pitfalls, etc.) in the grace of God. In June 2024, the sequel “Spiritual Thermometer II” was published.

Spiritual Thermometer/SG Model (SGM) Courses, Seminars, Individual and Group Meetings

Dr. Candy's most taught course is the Spiritual Thermometer/SG Model (SGM) basic class, which had been enriched and updated for the 5th edition in 2023. It is based on Joseph's spiritual journey, using the Bible as the backbone, describing his experiences, matching the background of Joseph's time, comparing with the current social environment, and the participants' situation, and guiding them to learn the SGM, helping them to be sensitive to their current relationship with God, and to recognize their current stage of spiritual development. Then, through the Bible scriptures, accompanying them to discover how God is with them all the time; in both rational and emotional directions, through their own journeys, experiences, and feelings, to discover how God help them grow spiritually and enhance their spiritual immunity.

Besides individual learning, there are group classes. Through Joseph's experience, participants in group can learn to use the SGM as a tool to reflect on their spiritual condition, try to make a preliminary analysis according to their ability and intention, and share it in the group for mutual edification. Individualized spiritual guidance can also be provided through personal spiritual guidance meetings.

Apart from Joseph, Dr. Candy also uses the SG Model to check and detect the changes in the spiritual life of different New Testament and Old Testament characters (e.g. Samuel, Abraham, Lot, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David, Solomon, Jeroboam, Roboam, Daniel, Moses, Jephthah, Samson, young Levite, Peter, Paul, Apollos , John, Jacob , Timothy, Epaphroditus, Philip，Thomas, Andrew, Jesus the Lord etc.), and shared them with the group in different Spiritual Thermometer/SGM courses.

Church Gatherings and Retreats

In addition, churches of different spiritual traditions have been inviting the founder Dr. Candy to lead church meetings and retreats to systematically teach different types of Spiritual Thermometer/SG Model programs for deacons, pastoral staff, and believers. From the lives of different biblical characters (e.g. Jeroboam, Solomon, David, Abraham, Lot, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Peter, Paul, etc.), including the different tests they faced in their life, work, family, ministry, etc.. Using Spiritual Thermometer/SG Model (SGM) as a mirror to check their spiritual immunity and their responses to tests (including trials and temptations). After examining their own spiritual condition, believers can use the Word of God to help them and use appropriate SG methods to enhance their spiritual immunity and improve their ability to face different tests.
