Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner Dr Wendy Wong
It has been about three years since I met Candy. In the calling of "Influence life with life," we strive to treat every life with the integration of Chinese and Western medicine, as well as care for the body, mind, and spirit. According to the Chinese medical classic The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon (Huangdi Neijing), emotional disturbances are a major cause of illness, with many diseases rooted from emotional factors. A population survey conducted in the UK in 2015 revealed that approximately 500,000 patients reported outcomes were more accurate in predicting their mortality other than all medical tests, including all imagings, blood reports, and genetic analyses. This indicates that the body often raises alarm symptoms and signs far earlier than any objective scientific examinations that can detect.
Through obedience to God, the creator of heaven and earth, Candy and I work hand-in-hand to unravel patients' complex conditions like peeling back the layers of an onion. First, I prescribe Chinese herbal medicine to treat their illnesses, with guidance of deepen of the understanding of how to use Chinese herbal medicines and Western nutritional sciences of food (i.e. carbohydrates, proteins, and fats) to transform their lifestyle. Most importantly, we help them reduce the use of various Chinese and Western medications (e.g., antibiotics, COVID-19 treatments, cholesterol-lowering drugs, diabetes medications, and steroids), achieving a healthier way of living. This care enables patients to take good care of their health and return to the holy temple given to us by God.
Candy uses a tool called the "Spiritual Thermometer" to assess patients' spiritual immunity and address their emotional and spiritual needs. Together, we have handled cases involving chronic fatigue, emotional disorders, and COVID-19, among others. We hope to continue safeguarding the health and spirit of the people of Hong Kong.
